Germany Here We Come...
It's been months of planning and preparing and it's finally here! By the end of this week, Team Germany will depart.
Why are we going?
Big picture- our church's global mission statement reads:
"Jesus Christ is supremely glorious, which means that He is worthy to be proclaimed among the nations. Our desire is that Jesus Christ would be praised in every place. Therefore, we are actively involved in the global proclamation of the gospel. We financially and prayerfully partner with several mission works in both the USA and abroad, and we also strive to send teachers, leaders, and teams to wherever they can be the greatest encouragement for the cause of Christ."
This is our greatest desire, that Christ be magnified and that His Gospel would be known among all nations. As a team, we have the privilege to participate in what God is doing throughout Eastern Europe by joining BMW at their missionary conference.
Every year BMW (Biblical Ministries Worldwide) hosts an Eastern European missionary conference for their supported missionaries. BMW exists to serve local churches and their missionaries as they plant healthy churches everywhere through evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development. Our team has the privilege of serving the missionary families that will be attending this conference. These families love and serve our Lord through great sacrifice to see His gospel spread. Our main goal is to love, serve, and encourage these missionary families by serving their children and pointing them to Christ. More specifically, we will run a full VBS program for their younger children and a Teen program for their older students. Our desire is to demonstrate the love of Christ as we interact and form relationships that will hopefully last past the week that we are in Germany.
Our team is ready and excited! We've reached out to many of these missionary families through email with the desire and purpose of building relationships beforehand. We are now looking forward to meeting them face-to-face.
How can you pray?
- Pray for team unity. Pray that our team would love with Christ-like love and that we would seek to put others' needs above our own.
-Pray for safety and smooth travel. No lost luggage or missed flights! Pray for energy and strength when we arrive in Germany after flying for so many hours.
-Pray for the students, children, and missionary families that we will be serving- that they will feel loved, encouraged, and cared for. Pray that we would have intentional gospel-saturated conversations with the youth and many gospel opportunities throughout our time in VBS.
-Many of the children and teens feel isolated and lack biblical friendships as their families serve on the mission field. Please pray that as a team we will intentionally seek to encourage and build long-lasting relationships with them.
-Pray that as we travel and as we serve, in all things, Christ would be magnified and that the light of the gospel would be seen by all those we encounter.
"May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in You; And let those who love Your salvation say continually, 'May God be exalted!'" Psalm 70:4
"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21
For His Glory,
Kristine- Team Germany
