Day 8: Our last night at the conference
Tonight is our final night at the conference. We wrapped up VBS and our teen time by having an opportunity to head into the morning session and share all that we had learned in VBS and what the teens covered throughout the week. Once we were done sharing, they called our team back up and gifted each one of us a small Swiss Army knife. It was a sweet morning. We wrapped up the morning with an all-group picture.
After lunch, we had the opportunity to do a team outing. We went to Bad WildBad, a town in Baden-Wurttemberg, where we walked around, enjoyed pretzels & coffee, shopped, and rode the cable car to the top of the forest and did a tree-top walk. It had a spectacular view and then a giant slide to ride down at the end. We enjoyed this time as a team before heading back to the conference center for dinner.
The evening was spent enjoying a "talent show" by many of the missionaries. It was a fun night and really put on display how this BMW conference is really a family. They have said this all week. This is their family. We got to sit back and watch them enjoy their time together! Our teens also joined in on the last performance of the night. They sang "blessings" together however, each group of teens walked up front singing in their different languages. All the teens who spoke English started walking up first while singing, then the couple who spoke German walked up singing in German, and then the Italian group followed by the group from Spain. It was really beautiful to hear them all singing one song but in multiple languages together. Many of the students said they felt like it was a tiny piece of what heaven will be like.
Tomorrow we will worship together, say our goodbyes, pack up, and head back to Frankfurt! We are so thankful for the opportunities that the Lord has given us to come alongside these missionary families and serve them, in what seems like such a small way, and yet every interaction with them has reminded us that when it comes to serving Jesus nothing is small! All of these families that we have served by serving their children have said over and over again how thankful they are that we are here to be with their children. They recognize the struggles and hardships that being a missionary kid brings and their hearts just ache as their children struggle in their faith and long for relationships. We got to be a part of these missionaries' lives this week and we count it a blessing!
Thank you for praying for our team! Please continue to do so as we begin our travels home in the next couple of days. Please continue to pray for the BMW missionaries and their children!
Enjoy the pics! I'll post more when I have a better internet connection. :)
